Laptops and typing lowers students grades?

You might have already seen this but it is a particularly good article on how the use of laptops may be hurting students abilities to learn as compared to writing.

That make sense to me. I still write things and find that I remember them better.   

 

I agree electronic affects the student grades. I may experience students that took the time to write their note grades improved, but the student that  cut/paste their notes from the internet and the online books fail behind in class. In addition, examine with recall, analysis, and application questions these student did not do well. On the other hand, the student with written note performed better.

The laptops make taking notes faster for some and less vague. It also helps them to organize the notes.
