There is no question that the changes in the sector are leading to new hiring profiles and developmental needs. Specifically in the area of Faculty Development (my area of concenrtation) it is becoming more important that educators in our sector are more than just subject matter experts (SMEs). The classroom is becoming much more learner centered and our faculty need to reflect that along with the development of critical thinking skills in all their classes. To that end we are concentrating on potenital faculty who either have education and pedagogical background along with the subject matter expertise (especially in Nursing and Allied Health fields), or who amenable to learning new methods to integrate critical thinking into their students' learning. This will benefit not only our students learning, but retention and job securement once our students get out of school
