This module taught me that evaluating online faculty requires both quantitative data and qualitative observations. Counting posts or logins alone does not show how effectively an instructor supports student learning. Feedback should be timely, specific, constructive, and tailored to the course. I also learned that performance concerns may involve curriculum materials or technology, so these should be reviewed alongside instructor practices.
As Academic Program Director, I intend to apply this by strengthening my Blackboard course reviews to examine the quality of instructor feedback, student engagement, and timely outreach. I will use these findings to provide individualized support and guide professional development, with regular follow-up to assess progress and improve the student learning experience.
