Through this module, I learned that supporting online students requires more than simply delivering content through a digital platform. Student success is heavily influenced by engagement, communication, relationship-building, and the institution's ability to understand and respond to the unique needs of online learners. I also learned that strong working alliances between students and institutional personnel, combined with a positive campus climate, play a significant role in student retention, satisfaction, and achievement.
As an Esthetics Instructor, I intend to apply these lessons by being more intentional about communication, accessibility, and student support. I want to ensure that all students, whether in-person or hybrid, feel connected to the learning experience and know where to turn when they need assistance. I will continue providing timely feedback, creating opportunities for engagement, and building meaningful relationships that foster trust and belonging.
This module reinforced the importance of viewing education through a student-centered lens. Moving forward, I will focus on creating an environment where students feel supported academically, professionally, and personally so they can successfully reach their goals and thrive in their future careers.
