This module taught me that active learning works best when activities are connected to clear learning objectives. Students also need to understand why they are doing an activity, what is expected, and how their work will be assessed. Regular communication, feedback, and clear deadlines help them stay on track.
In my online math classes, I plan to start with a few simple activities, such as pausing a short lesson for students to solve a problem or explain a step. I will provide examples and a clear rubric for larger assignments, then use students’ responses to see where they need more support.
