It is very important to get to know who your students are, what they are about, where they come from, where they are planning to go, etc. The instructor should take the time to get to know their students in-depth or as much as the student would like to share. The instructor should also post information about themselves in an effort to let the students get to know you as a real person with real interests or even common interests. I have been in education for 18 years. Creating relationships with students makes it easier for the students and the instructor to communicate and ensure success not only in the courses but also creates professional connections.
