Mind maps is along the same line. The key is to find a method or procedure that enables the students to see parts as well as the whole of what they are studying. In using the mind maps I am sure you have experienced how your student start to see the parts and then how they all fit together. This is one of those "ah-ha" moments in teaching. That is what we are striving for with strategies like graphic organizers and/or mind maps. You are on the right track. Keep up the good work.
