Degree vs. Non Degree
How do you tell a student if they would be more interested in a degree or non degree program>?
Kevin,
It's really up to the individual student. Some students are more interested in a degree program because it may be more valuable to them in terms of future employment opportunities. Other students may be seeking to finish their program and enter the workforce quickly in which case a diploma program may be a better fit because they can generally be completed in a shorter timeframe.

I think it really depends on what they want to do. You need to find out what things they enjoy, and what they see their future like. If the program happens to be a degree program or a non-degree program you have your answer that way:)
It really depends on the student if they will seek degree or non degree program. As as advisor, its our job to make sure to that the student is apprised of all their options and potential outcomes with each. A college degree will not always get a person where they want to be in their life. So we have to take all factors into consideration.
I guess it just depends on the student. How long they want to be in school, what they're interested in, how quickly they're looking for employment- those types of things would how you would be able to tell if they're more interested in a degree or non degree program.
