Excellent! Employers also want to hire people with high school diplomas or GED. It is a win-win.

It is a wonderful opportunity to change their lives. Having that GED is the beginning of a new life.

I agree with this, is very important that all students have a High School or equivalent and if they don't have it, give the information where they can obtain a GED as a way to start a new life of success.

As a Commercial vehicle
operator training school. The trucking companies do not require a High school diploma or GED.
So what we do is help them the most we can with filling out applications if there is reading problem. The main thing is the work history needs to be accurate. So we assist the student by talking with them and they seem to understand what will be expected from them when they report to first day at new job and required paperwork and proper documention to have with them

I would encourage your prospective students to continue on and get a GED whether it is required by a trucking industry employer or not. It is a good way to ensure a future as most employers will require a high school or equivalency.

Your catalog should state exactly what is required to enroll in your school. If it requires a high school, or GED, the evidence must be placed in their admissions file.

We give them information were than may complete their High School or GED.

From my experience it is important to follow the guidelines listed in the catalog when it comes to admissions guidelines especially HS and GED. Because this can lead many people down a bad path of misinforming the students.

Andrew,

We are held accountable for the admissions requirements stated in the catalog. This requirement to publish all requirements so that we are practicing fair consumer practices.
