Seth Soronnadi

Learned that; "Fidgeting with something while talking is a common annoying mannerism. Instructors who play with a rubber band, ballpoint pen, or some other object make the object the center of attention. Students easily lose focus on the lecture, as they wonder what the instructor will do with the object next."

Seth Soronnadi

Learned that, " If you use a test from a textbook make sure and follow the text carefully so the students will know the content and what they are going to be tested over."

Seth Soronnadi

I learned that; "By having knowledge of the reading, computational, and comprehensive skills of your students, you will know how to develop instructional supports that will benefit them. These supports may include structured outlines, graphic organizers, or study guides."

I found that "When teaching using case studies and problem solving. The Socratic Method is designed to pull a variety of ideas from students for consideration and then to select those responses that appear to be most workable in for that situation."

Seth Soronnadi

Learned that "By blending the different learning styles of students into work groups a balance of the different styles can be achieved. Each student in the work group can then use their preferred learning style to acquire the content while observing how other students use their learning styles or preferences."

Seth Soronnadi

This is important "Your students are taking your course to gain a set of competencies that will enable them to enter into and succeed in their chosen career area. You, as their instructor, must work hard to select the most viable method of delivering this information to them."

Seth Soronnadi

Learned that "

At the beginning of a new class you should introduce yourself and give some background information about your experience and interests. You should have your students do this as well. In doing this exercise you: Get to know something about your students."

Seth Soronnadi

Learned that "The learning environment sets the tone for how the students are going perceive you and the course you teach. A comfortable and inviting classroom/laboratory sets the tone for the students as they start the class."

Seth Soronnadi

I learned that "Instructors need to be proficient in a wide variety of areas such as learning theory, curriculum development, and human resource management. To continue to get better at any and all of these, instructors need to have a plan for how they are going to learn new information and techniques that will make them better instructors"

Seth Soronnadi

I Learned that "Teaching across generations can be facilitated if instructors allow for self-discovery and fulfillment. "
