Activity

I am learning how to manipulate the classroom environment to help guide students to be well adjusted, safe feeling, active learners that may reflect on and build upon their knowledge and skills for success in the field.

Alway encourage students. Make them feel safe interacting with them. Get them comfortable to the level of active participation by using appropriate questions and techniques.

How to better use questioning in the class to everyone's learning benefit. I can use these strategies and recommended practices to help create a safe learning environment.

This information is useful because it will make me think before I speak when asking questions. Being mindful of which questions and how I ask them in order to maximize the learning experience of my students while making them feel comfortable.

I learned about using the right testing type to measure what needs to be assessed.

Evaluation and assessment of students and instructors is important to understand. We must determine if the message we send is the message being received, using a variety of the methods discussed.

To use different types of questions based on the various student situations. Using questions to get students up to the level of understanding you are trying to achieve for them. Listen carefully, give and encourage their feedback.

In short, be aware of all learning styles, how to recognize individual preferred methods, my own style, and how to incorporate the different styles to take advantage of maximum learning opportunities.

I will lead by example. I will maintain rapport with my students. I will find out what motivates them so that I can use that information to keep them motived and focused them on their goals.

In a nutshell, I need to keep on top of my game keeping my students interested in learning, by not being boring. Providing a variety of learning styles and methods to keep them engaged in the learning process, I can provide them with the best learning experience to help them achieve success. If things slack off for any reason, I can always fall back on the REFOCUS strategy to get a handle on the situation.
