Bio

Asst. Professor of the Business Management Department, I received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Flagler College. I completed a Masters in Business Administration from Pace University in New York City. I completed a Doctorate in Business Administration and Marketing in 2008. My past employment consists of for profit and non-profit organizations, including marketing assistant for GE Appliances, teaching at Texas A&M University and the University of Phoenix along with various other business related experiences. I have a strong enthusiasm for teaching and a clear connection to the needs of the students. I have worked to make student retention and success a top priority. I am a Certified Online Instructor as well as Quality Matters Certified.

My Teaching Philosophy

I believe that everyone is capable of learning, and there are many ways to foster that process. I utilize a variety of activities—participation, class discussions, group activities, hands-on projects, real world scenarios and lectures based on the fundamentals of the subject using real world methodology to encourage, inspire and engage each student. I encourage students to ask questions and participate in class discussions and I have an open door policy allowing students to discuss concerns/issues as a class, team or on an individual basis. I also use related current business and management topics, to provide skills that will let students achieve success in college and beyond. I worked at several universities that admitted "non-traditional" students. I have experience facilitating online classroom working adults, and have found that they are motivated by providing an encouraging environment where they are given a level of understanding about each of their unique situations, including working, family and life experience. Adult learners have an enriching background to provide to not only me, but to the other students in the class, and I aspire to bring that to the classroom experience.

Personal Info

I have three children with Autism and I spend lots of time in the community with them. I enjoy surfing, playing soccer, photography and couponing…no I’m not an extreme couponer, but I do enjoy saving money! I also love to travel and I'm currently planning my next big adventure with my sister.

The chart lists colors and meanings that various different cultures associate with those colors. Good teachers expect and demand high levels of performance of students. Good teachers are great performers and storytellers that rivet their students' attention.

I had an amazing psychology professor in college. He was on fire every class period and his enthusiasm was contagious. But the things I remember most are the psychological experiments in which we participated. I remember every detail and the supporting theories because I experienced it.
