Activity

First day is always exciting and stressful. Preparation makes it less stressful.

Planning and preparation are a very important step in the teaching process, and students love to know what to expect ahead of time. We must also remember that these things have to have subject to change.

My Key takeaways for aspiring to be the best instructor I can be:

  • Lifelong learning: never stop
  • Reflective practice: look back on each course we take and teach to improve
  • Tailoring teaching to students: some students learn differently
  • Building strong relationships with students
  • creating engaging and inclusive learning environments
  • leveraging technology
  • providing constructive feedback

Flipping the classroom helps students learn by teaching. The concentrate on one section and teach that to the rest of the class.

Learning preferences are how a person finds it easiest to learn, and can be read, pen to paper, listening, or hands on. Challenges to learning can be many things including: language barriers, cultural misunderstandings, stereotypes and bias, and engagement or motivation.

Language is very complex and just because to people speak spanish doesn't mean they speak the same way. Spanish from spain is different from spanish from south america.

Race is a social construct based on what is seen, like skin color or facial fetures. Culture is beliefs, values, customs, behaviors, tradition, and/or practices that are passed down.

Cultural diversity in school means including every student. This means we include and accept all students regardless of: gender, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic status, language, and/or abilities.

The benefits of embracing diversity in school include: enhanced learning, increased empathy, improved academic performace, and preparation for a diverse world.

The steps to Problem solving are: indentifying and defining the problem, gathering information and analyzing the data, developing possible solutions, evaluating alteratives and picking the best solution, implementing the solution, and finally evaluating the outcome and learning from it.

Creative problem-solving and analytical thinking are a very important skill for addressing challenges effectively. It is a process that takes divergent thining and convergent thinking and combines them together. It involves, defining a problem, information gathering, thinking of potential solutions, questioning alternatives, deciding on and using the most suitable solution, then evaluating the outcome.
