I had never given much thought to this topic until I took this course. Now I understand why online instructors should be aware of communication differences among generations. It is basically the same as having the mix of generations in on ground classes. You must know how to communicate to all generations in order to get the point across, keep the students engaged and interested; as well as create a learning environment that's conducive for learning for all age groups.
This was a great class with lost of important information for some who does not know how to handle stress and management time. However, I do think that I am well versed in both areas because of my teaching experience and the number of years that I have been in the public school environment, prior to making the transition to the adult career college environment.

When you avoid giving essay, and manually graded test, it will automatically free up a great deal of your time, as well as relieve some of the stress that you are experiencing. Try it!! and I am certain that you will love it!! I do.

I am a firm believer that time management is the greatest stress reliever. While I am a procrastinator about many things, I will always meet or exceed the deadline regardless to whether it's work, school, family, or personal. I enjoy working out in the gym and doing other fun activities; therefore, I always complete all necessary task, in addition to always leaving time for myself. "Me Time" is a great, and the best stress reliever for me.
Ingetration of technology in the learning environment is becoming more and more advanced as well as a popular item in the on ground classrooms. All of the seven courses that I am teaching this quarter are web-based; therefore, I am utilitizing a lot of social networking, media hosting and sharing, etc. Therefore, this course was very helpful. It has enhanced my knowledge in several areas such as microblogging, media hosting and sharing, etc. I have taken quite a few notes so that I will be able to incorporate them into my on ground web based classes. Blogging is a great educational tool because it gives online students the opportunity to express their opinions, thoughts, and facts by means of a technology tool that is easy to use. They can be accessed anytime, and anywhere as long as you have internet access. Blogs can also be great technical tool for teachers to use in order to create classroom activities that extend beyond the traditional four walls of a school building.

The "six degrees of separation" in social networking simply means that once you join a social network site or sites,, you have the opportunity to connect with friends, family members, old classmates; as well as meet other people around the world. If you are a business owner, this is a great way to connect with customers, add new customers, as well a advertise your business to the world.
This course was very helpful since I'm teaching in the Information Technology and Office Technology division at my campus. However, I was aware of much of the materials covered; however, I did enjoy learning new information in the areas, because it will enhance my current knowledge. I am currently using simulations, videos, powerpoint presentations (both audio and non-audio), and more. As the Online Learning Specialist here at my campus, we currently use moodle as the platform for offering distance education courses; as well as instructor courses. Managing your emotions is a very important skill for everyone's success. As an instructor, if I can't manage my emotions, I don't know how I can even attempt to assist students in managing their emotions; especially when I have allowed myself to drop down to their level.
