Welcome to the ACTE Retiree's Group!

Hi there! It's great to have you join us here.

You spent a good portion of your own career in career and technical education, so why not stay connected and involved with other like-minded, CTE oriented colleagues?

This is a dedicated space for retired members of ACTE to congregate electronically, share stories of their 'after work' endeavors and to find and support new opportunities to continue to be involved in career and technical education.

Please do a few things to make this experience more enjoyable (and productive).

1. Be sure to activate the Activity Feed for this group (that way you'll be notified when there are new postings or resources added here).

2. Respond to this posting, by introducing yourself, what you did in your active CTE career and what you're doing now

3. Consider sharing a Blog post about your favorite memory in working in CTE

4. Share a resource, an article or a web page about a CTE related issue or story that resonates with you, that you feel others would like to know about.

5. Consider starting your own Discussion Topic on something that trips your trigger (excites or interests you) to get others involved.

6. Share the link to this group to any friends or former colleagues who should belong to the group as well!

Thank you again for joining our group, now let's get chatting!

OHIO--I am Roger Fulk, and I retired as a Full Professor from Wright State University, Dayton, OH, where I taught Business and Office Technology.  I have been a member of ACTE for over 30 years, and I have enjoyed contributing to the overall success of Career and Technical Education.  I can see the results in my graduates and students who have gone on to very successful careers.  I have enjoyed attending and presenting at many of our conferences.

I currently work at Edison State Community College in Piqua, OH, as a Workforce Success Specialist, as well as serving as an Adjunct Professor in Business Communication and Computer Information Systems. I enjoy the contact with students and area employers--making the connection from college to careers!!!  I also enjoy assisting our students with resume preparation, interviewing techniques, and more!

I am also a Certified Etiquette Trainer, and I enjoy presenting on such topics as Manners, Dining, Digital Technology, Interviewing, Resumes, and more!!!  My latest area of presentations involves "Appreciation in the Workplace."

My wife is also a retired Business and Technology Educator, and all three of our daughters have careers relating to Education--one is an elementary teacher in Columbus, OH; one is a Guidance Counselor in Dayton, OH; and the other one is a Professional Teacher Trainer for the Florida Education Association/National Education Association.  We all enjoy seeing our students succeed in class and in life!!!

My mentor was my high school business teacher who instilled in me the love of teaching and helping students to succeed!  I try to pass on her knowledge, help, and enjoyment of helping others!
