Online courses require clear communication, community building, and intentional scaffolding. I plan to apply this by using diverse tools like discussion boards and the course help section.

I learned the principles of a course framework and module templates, and how they support consistency and help to guide learning objectives. I plan to implement these by structuring my course with weekly modules that contain chunked, multimodal content.

I learned that there are effective ways to manage different learner behaviors and reduce attrition in learning. I will apply this by monitoring participation, reaching out to quiet or struggling students, and setting clear expectations for communication and deadlines.

I learned about the importance of designing with intention for online learners, particularly the use of structure discussion boards and providing clear and early feedback with rubrics.

It is essential to project my presence online to establish trust and foster engagement. I will apply this by sending individualized messages, engaging in forum discussions, and encouraging my students to do video introductions, if possible.

I have a better understanding of the value in knowing my course goals and objectives, instructional strategies, assessments etc. Knowing these details can keep things running in a consistent manner. Before I begin each course I teach, I want to make sure that I completely review it, understanding the course structure and expectations for delivery.
