To individualize  teaching to each student and make them feel special. Encouragement is a big way to get their confidence up.

I think the most important course help  i learned was. School and you maybe  the only support student has to rely on. This really stood out for where I teach. A lot of the students will sleep in their cars and look for housing or babysitters. They still continue to come to school. I am sure after sleeping in a car all night they did not get a good nights rest. Really enforces to listen and point them to places that can help

I have learned many new visual techniquesand ideas to stimulate my classroom. I think Draw a term would be a great visual game the students would have fun with and learn at the same time.

I learned many effective strategies to engage my classes in learning. I think this will help them to learn and have fun.

I learned a multitude of games to peak interest in my classroom and fill up time. I think the ball toss would be a good game . Everyone would be standing and they can't be falling to sleep in the class.

I think the Secret Idenity Game would really help the nursing students with their open ended qestions. PLus it seems like a lively game that will keep them awake and learning during class.

Medical terminology is something I do everyday when I teaching. Knowing the average population learns 80% better by visualizing the terminolgy makes sense. Alot of times the students have no idea what I am talking about. Breaking the friends up makes total sense to learn. It cuts down on the talking and they get to know other people in the class. We have 10 weeks this quarter and one girl did not know another girls name until the other night. This is week 9 of our class!  I think that's pretty sad.

I learned the differnce  between learning prefernce and learning challenge. Providing instructional variation can assist the students to succeed in school if they have a learning challege .

In "English Only",", I found it very interesting in the  study that bilingual children matured earlier, are more comfortable with diversity, exibit social adaptability, and identify with ethnic groups. If the study shows this . Why are there not more shools starting children at a younger age being bilingual in the United States?

This brought home the concept to know your student culture in order to present your coarse material effectively. They will better understand the concepts if you are coming from their point of learning.
