I learned the concepts of asynchronous and synchronous learning. Blending the two is a great way of learning,  but you need to check on your students to make sure their learning needs are being met.

Online courses need to be engaging to capture the students learning. I was also suprised that 6% of all Public Schools offer all their courses either online or onsite. When my daughter's class miss a day of school they are required to go online and obtain their assignments for the day and do their homework. I think this should be required at all schools in the U.S.

Listening and treating others like you would want to be treated regardless of their race , color or religion.

Rubrics should be clear on what the student is going to be evaluated on.

I have learned for students to be successful it needs to start from the very beginning in admissions. Helping Students with mentors, access to available good jobs, a great graduation. Helps to keep your program admission rates increased, satisfied students, and higher retention.

Involving everyone in the school to maintain retention of the student is important. Starting at the front desk and including each and every student.  Keeping a more watchful eye out while teaching for students who seem discouraged, withdrawn, or  having a hard day.  Letting them know I will do anything to help or just listen if they need it.

Mentoring new students has showed to be successful. They are able to have a one on one person they are matched with, discuss how to study, answer their questions, and encourage them throughout the program. Someone without this support may not seek the help out and fail.

Retention of students begins with the admission process. Using a rating scale and self checks are both good ways to evaluate . The more information a person is given. The more likely they are to succeed.

Getting to know your students individual learning styles & offering this as a way to learn . Encourages retention of material instead of the old style of lecturing.

Bloom's taxonomy can be used in teaching by presenting the goals for the assignment, student accomplishing assignment , and finished grade.  Hopefully along the journey the student with interaction from teacher and fellow students was able to see a reason for their project. How it can help them in the future, and how they have progressed in thinking.
