Being consistent in course layout is critical in any course as well as using the 4 O's! 

Online teaching requires the instructor to be more of a guide and offer to direct students to find the answers they are looking fo.

I intend to use a blended version of synchronous and asynchronous teaching as we have a hybrid program with in lab scanning and virtual didactic classes.

Technology tools are important for online teaching programs because it helps meet the needs for the learner.  The instructor must understand how the tools function to be implemented properly.

It is important to use different teaching methods to cover the different learning styles student may have.  It will assist in keeping students motivated in the class.

In a first class it is important to let the students know a bit about your professional background as well as have them introduce themselves and tell something about themselves as an ice breaker. 

To be a successful instructor it is important to prepare using a syllabus and course content to outline the class.  Creating checklists is also a great way to ensure all items are covered.

As an instructor it is important to show up on time and present myself in a clean and professional manner to set the tone of professionalism for my students.
