It is important to have consistency with the framework of the class. This should allow the students to be successful in the class by knowing what the expectations are.

I have discovered new strategies that can be used to communicate with the learners in my online community. This is good information to have in order to allow all students to be heard and feel a part of the class. There was also important information about the different types of learners and how they can interact with the class.

The differences between the two types of instruction, synchronous and asynchronous. I have found that synchronous may not always be the the best kind, especially for larger groups of students. I also discovered that providing clear expectations for discussions is very important.

Building relationships is important, even in an online classroom. It is important for the instructor to get to know the students as well as have the students get to know each other. This will a little different with not being in a classroom, but there are some good ideas and strategies presented here.

It is important to familarize yourself with the requirements of the online course, and how you will be required to present and monitor the information. It is also important to communicate those requirements and expectations to your students in order for them to be as successful as possible.
