Scott, Asking for students' feedback is important. We can learn from them just as they are learning from them. There is also buy in on their part when they feel a part of the process. Thanks!
Scott, The key is that you understand the rubrics have to be shaped to fit exactly what is needed. Rubrics are not a one size fits all too, but they must be crafted carefully. Thanks!

Scott, All important components. Many times the instructor has the most difficulty with the criteria and they are essential components to the rubric. Thanks for your input.
Scott, Right - either way - too much or too little can be confusing to the students and not helpful at all. We do have to make sure the objectives are connected to the rubric so that we don't assess the wrong things. Good point.
Scott, I like the way you integrated holistic, produce and process. This brings up some very good points and will help others understand. Thanks!

Elodie, Right on! The rubric helps both the students and the instructor. When everyone understands the expectations more clearly, it's beneficial to all. Thank you.
Elodie, Ease of Use; Features; Current - these are all good things to assess when checking out communication tools. Thanks for your input.

Patricia, And that they are measuring the objectives. Being fair, consistent and accurate go right along with this thought. Thanks for your input.

Patricia, Yes, the criteria and scale are both important. Make sure your rubric is also connected to the learning objectives. I list mine within the rubric itself. Thanks!
