Cynthia, The tone and encouragement piece in communication is so important. Thanks for your input in these forums.
Cynthia, Excellent. It's so true that even though the technology is easy to use, we still need that technology support. Thanks for bringing that up. Take care.

Christine, And, don't forget, the rubrics help the instructor as well. There are many benefits for students, but consider those for instructors too. Thanks!

Christine, Nice job. We have to think carefully about how we can provide learning for a variety of students. We have to use various tools and teaching tools to help all students engage in the content. Thanks!
Tanya, Good point! These key components you noted are essential. Accessibility is important so that all students can utilize the communication. Without the accessibility, the ease of use and added value wouldn't "have a chance." ;-)
Christine, Right on! Hence a "pattern" - consistency and clarity are two key components. We want to avoid that confusion. Thanks!
Betsy, I agree. Anything we can do to help motivate students, is worth a try. Rubrics can be beneficial to both the instructors and students. Thanks for your input.

Betsy, Good description of the parts of the rubric. Thanks for sharing. These forums provide a great place to help others.
Betsy, Yes, that is true. When the rubrics are not clear, they can cause more confusion than help. As we set up the criteria and connect them to the objectives, they will benefit the students better. Thanks!

Betsy, I am so glad you mentioned the objectives/learning outcomes in conjunction with the rubrics. They must be aligned. I actually put the objectives on the rubric itself. This helps the students understand why they are doing what they are doing. Thanks!
