Patrice, Keeping those learning objectives in the forefront of all you do is essential. Thanks for reminding us of that.

Gail , True - we can't "pigeon hole" students into one place or another, but in general we can learn a lot about them from a generational perspective. Thanks!

Daniel, I love that you asked questions to determine what instructors need to think about when developing an online class. Thanks for giving us food for thought.

Marcia, I like the live chats as well and have online office hours through Adobe Connect. Sounds like you are using a variety of communication methods. Thanks for your input.

Marcia, It's good to have general guidelines, but students have to understand they are general guidelines on time. It may take one students more or less to work through the assignments, but I like some guideline at least. Sounds like you are setting your own personal guidelines as well. Nice job. Thanks for your input.
Christina, It's great to try new things. Why not. Even though I used rubric generators or find one online, I still tweak it to meet my needs. Thanks!
Patrice, Yes, if it's too generic, the students may be confused on the expectations and how they will be evaluated. Thanks!
Christina, Your right. The alignment is key in the development of the rubric. The alignment with the learning objectives is key as well. Thanks!

Patrice, You are right on! And, from your post I can see that your provide the rubric before students begin the assignment, not just at the end. Perfect.
Discussion Comment
Alfred, Yes, a well-designed rubric should clearly spell out the expectations and connect everything to the learning outcomes as well. Thanks!
