Miriam, Thanks for your input. You are correct in that some information may be provided to students in a variety of ways. Students learn in a variety of ways too, so providing information in more than one way helps them learn more effectively. Nice job.
Amanda, Consistency is very important. The students need to know there is an "outside" and be able to think critically about situations that occur within/outside the classrom environment. Helping them do this is key. Thanks!
Amanda & Jean, You are right on target. Adjusting your teaching based on students' learning styles is important. Remember that the students may even have dual learnings styles so the more information you provide to students in a variety of ways, the better. Thanks to you both for you input.

Amanda, Thanks for your input. Skype, Adobe Connect Professional, Eluminate, etc. are all effective technologies for communication. You have made it clear through this posting and your last posting that communicating expectations and outcomes is essential. You can also use simple questions (diagnostic assessment) to see where your stuents are coming from and what they already know. Then, you can adjust your teaching. Nice job.

Amada, Love the acrononyms. . .SLOs and GEOs. It's important that the SLOs don't slow the process! :-) You are correct in that all of these are important factors. Students must understand what is expected of them and how they will be assessed on assignments/project. The more clearly an instructor can explain these factors, the better. Nice job.
Melissa, Student evaluations provide viable information to help edit the course or activities so that they are more effective the next time taught. Students are typically honest and provide detailed information. However, it is important to get feedback from others such as your peers. Nice job.
Melissa, You are correct - there is a fine line between constructive and negative. If you can start your feedback with a positive note, that is the best. But constructive feedback is effective and can motivate students to learn more and perform at a higher rate. Nice job.

Melissa, I liked the way you described why activities should be provided in a variety of ways to make sure those who learn in differnt ways get the information they need to understand. Nice job. You are correct in that feedbakc must be specific and an interactive classroom (especially in an online environment) are essential. Thanks!

Melissa, I agree that organization is key. As you provide timely, consistent and complete feedback, how you provide it to students (organized) is essential. Thank you for your organized and detailed feedback to this forum. Nice job.
Donte, Your input helps us all understand the importance of positive, individualized, timely feedback. These are three key components to appropriate feedback. Helping students understand what they did wrong is important, but helping them further understand why what they did wrong was wrong takes it to a higher level. Nice job.
