Michael, Right on. One size does not fit all. The more variety you have in getting information the more information you will get. You can then determine the best way to use the informaion yo uhave to improve the course and learning process. Thanks!
Michael, You have provided some very good points. Communication and meaningful feedback should enhance the learning process. Nice job.

Rebecca and Chris, I agree. Providing feedback should enhance learning. The students should be provided with meaningful feedback to help them learn. Thanks!

Rebecca, One thing I do is make sure the course objectives are listed on the rubrics I use. This helps students connect assignments to the course outcomes. I also have a muddiest point discussion board forum where students can post questions or thing they do not yet understand (hence they are "muddy" on). This is particularly helpful before tests so that I can reiterate content they do not yet have a good grasp of. Hope this is helpful.

Rebecca and Edward, Thanks for keeping the conversation going. Thanks for sharing.

Donna, Right on. When everyone understands the expectations, the learning process is improved. Developing a community of learners and helping all students learn is essential. Thank you for your input.
Antoinette, Interesting. I hope the person making them understands the content and the learning process. I'm glad you modify. Thanks for your input.

Antoinette, Right on! When we see it from the students' perspective, we learn a lot! Also, when everyone understands the expectations, everyone benefits. Thanks!

Michael, Right on. Knowing your audience in any situation is important and your students are your audience. Knowing your content and how to deliver it in a variety of ways is essential. Thanks for your input.
David, That is a good combination. A variety of feedback provides essential varying information. I like your "nugget" analogy. Thanks.
