Miriam, This rapport you are building will lead to mutual respect and we can't say enough about respect. Thank you.
Miriam, Having tools that are available to everyone and making sure they do what they are supposed to do is essential. Thanks for your input in this forum.
Kimberly, Using different questioning techniques can be beneficial. Open communication is a must if we want students to feel they can provide feedback and we will listen. Thanks!
Alfred, Don't hate to say it - grades are important. It does provide us with an overview of how students did, but it doesn't tell us why they did well or poorly. Additional formative feedback may be helpful. Thanks!
Kimberly, Many people do not understand the difference between formative and summative feedback or they don't really know about formative feedback. Thanks for bringing that up!
Alfred, Timely feedback is essential. If the students don't know what they understood or misunderstood on the first assignment/project, how can they scaffold their learning. Nice job.

Kimberly, Good info. We do need to what the students know already to move them forward to meet the learning outcomes. This can only be done through a variety of delivery formats. Thanks!

Phyllis, We have to evaluate everything - including rubrics. We need to ask if they are measuring what we want them to measure and if they are reliable in that measurement. Thank you.
Phyllis, I use Rubistar many times just to look at similar rubrics to see if I can make my criteria more clear or to see if I may have forgotten a pertinent category. It helps to see others. Thanks!
Phyllis, We can go overboard for sure. It is essential to make the criteria clear and make sure students can easily understand the expectations. Thank you.
