John, The course content and the learning objectives are essential to begin the learning process in the online environment. And, you are right on target with your discussion about getting to know the students and the LMS to get the content to the students. Nice job.
James, Glad you brought up the idea of having a plan B. We always have to make sure we have a back up plan. Thanks for your input.

Walter, You stated this well. We do have to understand the students, know what they know, know what they need to know and provide content in a variety of ways to assist all learners. Thanks!

Eugene, Good idea. We have to set aside that specific time to work and play. Interruptions certainly do slow us all down. Thanks for your input.
Karen, If the technology communication tools are not easy to use, people won't use them. This is especially true with our students. Thanks for your input.
Craig, Relating the students back to the objectives and rubric is helpful. We want them to understand why they are doing what they are doing and how it will impact them later in their career. Thanks!

Craig, It is important to be prepared to teach the content and be able to effectively use the technology you need to teach and communication at your best. Your list of things to consider will help you do this. Thank you.
Donielle, Can you explain a bit more about the vertical learning environments to help others reading this forum? Thanks!
Donielle, Serving as a role model for students is why we lead by example. What better way to help students "follow the leader." Thanks!
Karen, We do want our students to feel connected and engaged. When we are supportive and timely in our communication, students will know we are there for them and they will feel more comfortable communicating back. Thanks!
