Betsy, Consistency can be a good thing, but each instructor is different and each course content is different, so some difference in assessment is OK too. Thanks for your input.

Betsy, She syllabus serves as a key component in the communication process. Some online instructors have started giving students a quiz on the syllabus and until the student receives 100% on the syllabus, no additional online content will be released to them. Just a thought. Thanks!
James, Love the term "content polish suggestions." We are all working toward the same end product - an improved student. Thanks for your input.

Tasha, We must be related because I have those same relatives. Ha! Have a great week and take care. Look forward to your next post.
revonna, Any information we can get from students in a formative setting allow us to edit the learning environment and help improve instruction and learning. Thanks for your input.

Tasha, The 24-48 hour rule seems popular among online instructors and provides timely feedback. We do use student emails to clarify information and adjust our teaching. Nice job.

revonna, Yes, the more examples the merrier. Please share whatever you can. Thanks!

Tasha, You seem to have a system that works for you. I even put in my syllabus when I will be checking email, discussion boards, etc. I post "office hours" and tell students I'll check emails during that time. I also tell them I do not check email consistently on weekends. That is why I make all of my assignments due on Wednesdays. Thanks!

Tasha, Organization and time/priority management are essential to helping us keep a balanced life (as well as we can). Reserving time to work and keeping up with your calendars are essential components to this organization. Thanks for the tips!
Tony, You are helping students understand your response time better. Therefore, their evaluation of that et the end of the course, should be better. I don't let my students post late work, but your institution may have rules that all it. Thanks for your input.
