I thought that this was a really nice overview of what creating and running your own course entails. I thought it nicely covered all the topics from lecturing, to learning, and testing. I think this would be a good course for an instructor just starting out, for more seasoned instructors, this is information they most likely know. Overall, good course!

I found this course very interesting.  I incorporate segments on emotional intelligence, critical thinking and problem solving into all my classes.  Students of all ages need to develop these skills.  If I have a student who is having problems, whether they be school related or personal related...the first thing I say, after listening to their story....is....."What are you going to do to solve this problem?"  Then, I hold them accoutable to solve the problem.  They learn so much about themselves by solving problems and that builds confidence and then that confidence shows up in their academics.  It's a win=win!!

Technology is here...so I tell my students and myself...to get good at it!!  You will be valuable in the workplace and you don't want to be the employee who says, "I don't know, I don't text" etc.  The course was valuable in pointing out the characteristics of the generations groups.  The world is fast and getting faster.

I was not sure that the material applied to me as faculty; however, it is important for me to understand the other components of the student's educational process and not just tunnel vision on the the classes that I am teaching.  I believe this course enlightened me in quite a few areas.

ED 108--I found the section on pruning very interesting.  Seven pages of notes and a good review!!

ED 108--Get ready to review alot!!! I found the section on pruning very interesting.

I love reading management principles and envisioning my workplace as it ought to be.

What do suggest we do to get our administrators to practice and implement these current management principles?  They still manage from the "dictator school of management", which is ironic because we teach "Management Principles" at our school and the emphasis is on high-performance teamwork and other features you stated in your blog.  Regards, Sherri M.
