About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Stephanie, Absolutely! We must treat every student the same. Patricia Scales
Hi Maricar, It is good to let the guest speaker know those things you want them to speak about. Patricia Scales
Hi John, I too have had this same experience! A guest speaker can add renewed excitement for some students. Patricia Scales
Hi James, We need to change things up for our students. Students love hearing from other professionals, and the information serves as reinforcement as to what they have been taught. Patricia Scales
Hi Glenn, Thank you for digging deep! Sometimes as instructors we need to dig so that we can find out what is truly going on with our students. We can save/help a lot of our students if we know their issues. Patricia Scales
Hi Bryan, I concur! The example provides great clarity! Patricia Scales
