About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Roberta, You really give your students something to look forward to. I can see how your students will buy into the course. Patricia Scales
Hi Chukwuka, We have to help our students believe in themselves. It is like parenting, let mommy (teacher) do it, and then you (student) try it. Patricia Scales
Hi Roberta, You are on point! Students get it when they can see it! Patricia Scales
Hi Abdalla, I concur! Great clarity is added when examples are shared. Patricia Scales
Hi Linda, Most students are visual learners, and if they can see an example they gain a better understanding as to what is expected of them. Patricia Scales
Hi Kizzy, It sounds like you do a fine job of getting your students ready to be MAs. Patricia Scales
Hi Marco, Rubrics are great to use. A student can really pregrade their work before turning it in with a rubric. Students get a good idea of what they will make on the assignment when a rubric is issued. Patricia Scales
Hi Jamie, Most students are visual, and they love to have a paper trail to refer to so that they are kept on point. Patricia Scales
Hi David, Students love hearing about our professional experiences as they apply to the lesson. Patricia Scales
Hi Marie, Students get real excited when we make learning applicable to what they will be doing in the workplace. Patricia Scales
