About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Patricia, Wow, what great experience you have to bring into the classroom. Experience really is the best teacher! Your students are fortunate to have you as their instructor. Patricia Scales
Hi Rachel, I concur! We have to make learning apply to the real world so that students understand the relevance of the course. Patricia Scales
Discussion Comment
Hi Sharon, I agree! Our students need to know that we are approachable/personable, and we will do whatever we can to help them succeed. Patricia Scales
Hi Prairie, I like how you express confusion to let the students know that it is okay to be confused. Even instructors get confused, and we have to have clarity. Patricia Scales
Hi Joe, I concur! Every student matters, and we should treat them as such! We need to make it a point to interact with each student. Students love to be paid attention to. Patricia Scales
Hi William, Great way to reel students back in when they have lost their focus. Patricia Scales
Hi Hector, When students can see it then apply it, they have a better understanding for everything. Patricia Scales
