About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Jose, Awesome! Students become really interested when they know how the information is going to benefit them either or both professionally/personally. Patricia Scales
Hi Joseph, Some of our students are quick thinkers and can really think out of the box. We do have some students that we have to help them think and give them various scenarios to help with the thinking. Patricia Scales
Hi Michelle, Absolutely! We live in a world that is constantly changing, and in order to keep up, we must change. Patricia Scales
Hi Jeanette, These are sure ways to ensure students have been given their requirements. The idea of securing a signature is great. Students take a different level of seriousness whenever a signature is secured. Patricia Scales
Hi Darlene, We must provide great clarity to our students, and I like to put things in writing for them as well so that they can not say they were not told. Patricia Scales
Hi James, Students can quickly tell if we love what we do. Enthusiasim begins with the instrutor. We must let our students know the benefits of the course. Patricia Scales
Hi Julie, You are right! As instructors, we should treat every student the same. Favoritism should not be granted to any student. Patricia Scales
Hi Dr. Randy, When you give students something to work toward, the interest/attention level increases. Patricia Scales
Discussion Comment
Hi William, I concur! Rules must be established and enforced upon the students. They are our customers, but they must have guidelines with excellent customer service provided to them. Patricia Scales
Hi Angela, Humor is always good! Students and instructors alike enjoy laughter. All work and no play makes Johnny a dull boy. Patricia Scales
