About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Sandy, Great use of visual aid. Most students get it when they can see it. Patricia Scales
Hi Alan, This is practical learning at its best because when they begin their career they are going to have to be able to generate critical thinking. Patricia Scales
Hi Elizabeth, Super way for students to understand the "why" behind the exercise. Patricia Scales
Hi Christopher, Awesome! What an excellent activity to get your students prepared for the work world. Patricia Scales
Hi Mark, I concur! Boundaries must be established so that students know that you are in full control. Patricia Scales
Hi Edwin, I agree! Great strategies. It is real easy now to create different versions of a test with cut and paste. Patricia Scales
Hi Michael, I can tell you are a great role model! Continue to lead by example! Patricia Scales
Hi Priscilla, It is great to keep the classroom highly interactive so that students do not become bored. Try using hands-on activities, games, simulations, case studies, mock learning, role playing, etc. Patricia Scales
