About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Vu, You are right! Students are extraordinary customers, and we must treat them with great importance. Patricia Scales
Hi Robin, Case studies really put learning into more of a real world perspective. Students love case studies as they apply to their line of work that they will be doing. Patricia Scales
Hi Chanel, I like how you have your students to think out of the box as it pertains to their field. We have to let our students know that way more appears than what is on the surface. Patricia Scales
Hi David, I like your approach that you take toward the silent student. Rapport building goes a long way with silent students. If they are comfortable with you, they will open up more. Patricia Scales
Hi Tamikah, I concur! Students are really rejuvenated after hearing a guest speaker. Patricia Scales
Hi Hayvelises, Guest speakers give students real world experience based on the book theory they have learned. Patricia Scales
Hi Miriam, Awesome response! I agree 100%. We must sometimes be hard-nosed with our students because in the real world all those excuses are not going to be tolerated. Patricia Scales
Hi Wendy, I am sure your students appreciate how you put things in simple terms for them to have better clarity as to what is expected of them. Patricia Scales
Hi Nevine, Students really appreciate it when examples are shared to help ensure them that they are on the right track. Patricia Scales
Hi Dale, Students love it when we talk about how the course applies to their career. We have to show course relevancy to our students so that they understand the importance of the course. Patricia Scales
