About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Lisa, I love it! What a great way to get students excited/motivated and ready. This helps to hold them accountable as well. Patricia Scales
Hi Gary, Applying knowledge in the classroom as to things students will encounter in the real world is great tactic to utilize to ensure our students are thoroughly prepared. Patricia Scales
Hi Michael, You are right! I have seen a thorough review really minimizes cheating. With the test software, creating mutiple versions of a test is not complicated due to the increase in technology. Patricia Scales
Hi Richard, Awesome! What a great way to show course relevancy. Students love seeing visuals as they apply to the course content. Patricia Scales
Hi Travis, I concur! We should have very high expectations for our students and provide clarity so that they are successful. Patricia Scales
Hi Gary, Examples really do help students gain a better understanding as to what is expected of them. Patricia Scales
Hi Linda, Examples add great clarity for students. Most students are visual learners, and they grasp what needs to be done when they can see an example. Patricia Scales
Hi Denise, I like how you try to bring out each student's individuality and judge them individually. You are being very fair. Patricia Scales
Hi Jana, Super! It sounds like you do a fine job training your instructors. Students love it when active learning is involved. I am sure you have an impressive list of various active learning activities. Active learning makes for an exciting classroom. Patricia Scales
