As an instructor in an online setting, it is important to not only understand your teaching style, but also understanding technologies that are available to you in order to create the best learning environment possible. Once you are in sync with both it will make you more successful with your classes.

The best way to improve anything is to not only enlist the feedback of your students, but also other avenues in order to provide the highest quality course as possible. Having multiple opinions allows you to get the most well rounded course as possible.

Providing feedback to students is more than just "this is good" or "I agree" or "I do not agree." It's about taking the student response/assignment/assessment and providing meaningful feedback that turns into a learning objective for the student and enhances the learning experience.

Having a dynamic syllabus is the basis for any successful class as an instructor. From there establishing the right environment to allow the students to scaffold properly also provides success for the student and instructor.

Being able to be consistent in authoring a course makes things easier for yourself as an instructor and for the students as well in terms of ease of navigation. Without consistency, students can get lost along the way or struggle with picking up important topics during the course.

Using the technology available to us as instructors allows us to portray the information in a way that will increase student engagement, and in turn, increase the growth of our students during our classes.

I don't agree with the multiple attempts on quizzes (unless they are part of a non-graded assessment or part of a discussion board). At the end of the day, assessments are there to gauge the student performance as well as provide insight to the instructor to see if changes need to be made in order to provide the optimum experience for students.

In this module we discuss the different ways that information can be delivered to students in an online format. Having classes online gives instructors the opportunity to access more ways to increase the learning capacity of our students.

Having structure in an online course is paramount to the success of the course. Through proper structure, a class is able to flow and optimize the learning potentials of the students.

There is the potential for conflict/angst in online learning as well as in person. Understanding your institutions policies regarding these types of conflicts will help you move forward.
