As online CS advisor I think this module can be very helpful. You do want to make sure your student feels welcomed and calm so using techniques to respond when listening to confirm your understanding of what has been communicated is very important. They might not always work however it's good to know that you, as advisor, listened and utilized all your skills to help student

I've learned that there are 2 styles of advisor approach to student. I would like to use and concentrate on coaching style instead of managing.  Building trust with student/graduate is very important key in building success for student and advisor

At this practice I've learned that documentation should be objective and focus on observations versus subjective opinions based on perception.  When documenting, use accurate words, time, sign etc.  avoid using slang, unknown acronyms.

My key takeaway from this lesson is that continuous improvement should be a formal part of an employment verification program. There are many ways to continuously improve data collection and how to be detailed in record keeping. And also, communication is a key to successful data collection.

Employment verification programs should define clear requirements for the data collected in graduate placement records. Using standardized tools helps ensure consistency, reduce errors, and improve audit

In this module, I learned that employment reporting is an important tool in the hands of career services, which supports both graduates seeking employment, HEI's and the organizations that are hiring. For me it showed different perspective on how accurate employment reporting affects the economy
