Hi Natasha- Thanks for your post to the forum. You stated it exactly - we need to use the delivery methods that will be "more efficent and understandable for the students". http://www.crmlearning.com/fish-video
Hi Cathy - Thanks for your post to the forum. The fish throwing theme is great! Here's a link to a fish company in Seattle that became a huge corporate HR training source. http://www.crmlearning.com/fish-video
Hi Joshua- Thanks for your post to the forum. CATs will also help you to avoid moving on to new frontiers before previous groundwork has been grasped. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
Hi Bernadette- Thanks for your post to the forum. As another online instructor, I like your idea of "polling" to check if they are MIA. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
Hi Rochele- Wow - I'd love to watch you in action! I sounds like you might also have been a great actor if you had not chosen teaching. In a lot of ways though, teaching IS performing! Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
Hi Wayne - It really is unrealistic to try to adress every learning style in every lesson. The best strategy is to try to address every style as often as possible (when a specific type of delivery fits with your lesson plan). It usually comes down to developing a mindset for teaching to the learning styles. After a while you will find that you do it automatically. Best wishes - Susan
Hi Leonardo- I also share my own experiences with my students. It does seem to make the concepts I am teaching more relevant and also makes it easier for my students to relate to me since they can see that I was once in the same place as they are now. Susan
Hi James - Wow - Bravo! You are doing an exceptional job of getting your students involved in their own learning - excellent! Best wishes- Susan
Hi James- Thanks for your post to the forum. As you mention, knowing the learning styles of your students in advance allows you to tailor your lessons to the needs of your students. Although it taked additional time upfront, it pays off in the end. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
Hi Leonardo - Thanks for your post to the forum. Although my college has a tutoring center, often, as you mention, it is more helpful to get some on-on-one help from the instructor. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
