Hi Gary- Thanks for your post to the forum. Asking students to "teach back" is also an example of an important assessment in itself! The student must really have a firm grasp of the material to be able to teach it to his/her classmates. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
HI Alissa-Thanks for your post to the forum. I am sure you will find the Minute Paper to be useful! Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
Hi Andre- Thanks for your post to the forum. You are obviously a very emapathetic instructor and very attuned to your students! Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
Hi Carla- Thanks for your post to the forum. I have an A&P instructor who does the same thing. Since I have a cattle and sheep farm, I am her "Source"! It is a terrific teaching technique - thanks for sharing! Susan
Hi Ashley- Thanks for your post to the forum. I also use a "Question Box" and do find some pretty good questions in it some days. Interesting how often it turns out that other students were wondering about the same thing.... Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
Hi Kelly - Thanks for sharing the info about the VARK Learning stlyes questionaire. I checked it out and like it a lot! Best wishes- Susan
Hi Joe- Thanks for your post to the forum. Having students demonstrate whether they can "teach-back" is to me the ultimate assessment! Best wishes- Susan
Hi Joe- I also teach Psych and Critical Thinking and really like your idea about relating the class to Life Coaching. Thanks for sharing! Susan
Hi Bobbe- Yes, there are sometimes those studcents who need to be "walked through". I have been accused of "hand-holding" but as far as I am concerned, if that is what it takes to get a student through - fine with me! Best wishes- Susan
Hi Nicole- Thanks for your post to the forum. That baseline assessment gives us information that will help us to accomodate the needs of our students by adjusting our teaching and/or getting the students the remedial help that they need.
