Hi Daniel - Thanks for your post to the forum. Welcome to the world of Education! Students do love competitions. Pop quizzes can be useful also but I prefer regular short quizzes after each cahapter or module of instruction. Students know to expect them and so they make an effort to prepare. These quizzes can also then be used as reviews for longer mid-terms or final exams. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
Hi Evelyn - I like that there is interaction between the admin observers and instructors at your school! It does send a great message to your students. Too often students just fill out evaluation forms on their instructors without ever knowing what happens to that info. Susan
Hi Eveleyn- Thanks for your post to the forum. I was pleased to see that you mentioned powerpoint "discussions". Using a ppt as a vehicle for discussion is great - much better than just reading slides as part of lecture! Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
Hi Yvonne- Thanks for your post to the forum. Having students apply the concepts they have learned to real life scenarios/case studies gives them practice to prepare them for what they will encounter in the field. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
