Activity

I feel like the active learning strategies are already something I am doing as I get bored myself with talking.  My goal is to make this activities more meaningful to the students.

Given the fast pace of the course I teach and its difficulty level, the active learning methods are necessary but will have to be very efficient.  A lot of thought and preparation will be required.

When communicating with students it is always best to err on the side of caution so as to always be transparent and honest.  When in doubt communicate with school administration.

As a general education faculty member, it is wise to not comment and/or defer any questions my students may have, outside of the content I teach, to the dean, program office, admissions office, etc.

As a general education faculty member, I need to be hypervigilant and stick to the content I teach and not link the passing or failing of the course to any actions the college may take or any impacts on their future enrollment, careers, etc.

This has made me think about the importance of deliberate and thoughtful replies to students before actually responding.

I have made notes on the course syllabus as we moved through the course of things to change.  I need to do a better job of reaching out to students individually to ask what is and what is not working for them.

For our weekly course discussion which I grade according to a rubric, I will be more aware of pointing out the rubric requirements and how it will impact their grade  for the assignment.

I intend on giving my class syllabus a makeover and linking the 5 minute videos to it for viewing before class.

I realize I need to focus on developing a course layout on day 1 showing the structure of each module/week.
