As a facilitator I learned that I  play the role of instructor, social director, program manager and technical assistant. The  role of technical assistant can be very challenging if you are not fullyl conversant with technology that is being used in the delivery of the online teaching and so I am going to put in more effort on this.

It is important to identify the appropriate methods to use in online teaching. which ever method you choose to  use, it is paramount that you develop guidelines in order to facilitate effective delivery of the content to students.

I have learned about the technlogy tools available for use in online teaching and I will try and find out the ones that would best facilitate my teaching based on my teaching style

I have learned that it is important to use multiple and appropriate data sources when performing course revision. I will invlove my peers and other stakeholders in evaluating my courses.

I have learned that various forms of  assessments is important in  improving learning and teaching since they help the teacher to determine how effective the teaching is and the level of the students' achievement of the objectives. I will make sure that I develop rubrics to use in my assessments. 

I have learned that it is important to use a dynamic syllabus and scaffolding in online learning. I will try to be very sensitive to students feedback and  encourage effective communication wihin the online learning community. 

I have learnt the process of creating a course module and the importance of having learning objects database

I have learned that behavorial issues can also be of great challengie in online teaching and may include situations such as a learner being noisy, quiet, disruptive, procastinator and so on. I will try and apply strategies covered in this topic to deal with the behavioral issues whenever I encounter them. I will also ensure that I alway consult the my institution's code of conduct and policies before I take any action. I will also be documenting any cases that I deal with.

It is important to idenfify the learning styles of every student so as to be able to develop effective strategies that will encourage student participation in the discussions. It is also very important to give and receive feedback 

I have learned that it is important to establish a close relationship with my students. I will ensure that I creat a facility in the CMS that will allow me to have  synchronous and asynchronous discussions with my students
