Take notes, be persistent and don't give up

The internet has changed the way of the admissions process.  Students have majority of their information at their fingertips and no longer need that face to face interaction to gather information.  Finding a new "carrot" to help your institute stand out from the rest seems to be the goal for us.

There are many ways to market and advertise the school.  Social Media needs to be used with rules in place.

It is important to be very knowledgable in the admissions/ enrollment proces.  Knowing exactly what needs to completed and when in order to have students accurately placed will help create a smooth process.

 

The importance of the difference between refunds and cancellations.  Always be transparent about the rules and regulations of your institution

 

It is important to be very knowledgeable of the courses offered, financial support, requirements, etc of your institution to provide the most accurate information to prospective students.

 

In this module I learned theimpotance of knowing about my institutions transfer credit policy.

 

I have learned the importance of understanding and being knowledgable with the courses offered at my institution.  This can be accomplished through speaking to those professors,sitting in on their classes, visiting past students,etc.  I realize how helpful this is when dealing with potential students.  

 

I learned that through the admissions process there will be a lot of paperwork coming through.  It is impotant to know the order in which things need to be completed. and where/ who they go to after.  Having a system in place is very imprtant to keep these items organized.

 

As an employee new to an Adminstrative role, I have learned that it is important to keep a Resource Notebook at hand to help with learning the ins and outs of my institution, as well as being familiar with key terms to help understand vertain aspects of my role.
