We are currently looking at implementing a standards tracking feature in an external company that we use to track fieldwork student data. It will be important to evaluate the data handling in relation to this new feature before fully committing to it.

From this module I learned the importance of knowing what degree of transparency is best in a variety of situations from student interactions to industry partnerships and accreditation bodies.   

It is important to check AI output at every level of interaction and develop a systematic review system for each approach (Tell, Team, and Trust).

I learned that I can do something about any lack of fair representation of professional diversity in the materials that AI produces. I tried to consider diverse populations when creating lessons for my students without AI and now have a responsibility to check any future output for the same diverse representation.

I have learned that AI can be used safely, and that I have more control over the output and uses than I thought. I learned that my professional expertise is still important in teaching using AI tools.

AI can collaborate with me on coming up with patient scenarios and practice of communication skills in a safe platform that won't cause injury or confusion for real patients.

I learned that AI doesn't have to be feared if used correctly. I learned that it can be very helpful in creating vocabulary lists if checked for accuracy. I don't have a use for this information in my current work status, but I can see how it can be helpful. I have a better idea of how to use it responsibly in my personal life as well.

I am just beginning to get a grasp on how AI works. I haven't used it enough to know if I can responsibly direct it to perform an action. 

I agree Holly. I am acutely aware that not all of my students are interested in the specialty area taught in my course, but they are required to complete the course as part of their program. I have tried to find ways to make it more relevant to their interests, but I think it might be helpful to learn a little more about these students to help make it more relevant to them.

This is also what I have learned from this course. I have an innate desire to know a little about my students and have tried to use this. I think after this course I will be able to expand upon that to know all of the students instead of just the ones that are more vocal and readily engage.
