Activity

When you have been through the course several times you will start to develop a feel for how each unit is going to go and how much time the students will spend on it. Even at this more confident point in your course experience, you will find that different classes work at different speeds.

Check with your institution to see what their polices are in relation to social media use so you can develop your compliant strategies for the use of social media with your students. You will need to set rules for the use of mobile devices in your classes so they can be used as helpful learning devices and not distractions.

Prior to the field trip you should develop an observation sheet that the students can complete while on the field trip. The observation sheet is designed to help the students to focus in on the different aspects of the worksite that they are visiting

Do not engage in detailed conversations with the student about their disability or their disability-related needs in college. You are not the right person to be having that conversation with the student. Rather, refer the student to the appropriate office on campus.

The first step in reviewing how appropriately your office, as a whole, is responding to its mandate for access under the ADA is to clarify what opportunity/program(s) you are providing.

Today there are students with active psychological disabilities who come to campus with the hope that the college will somehow find a way to overlook their sometimes inappropriate/intrusive behavior. Unfortunately, that simply is not possible in higher education, where a student's right to access is tied to a responsibility to adhere to the societal and behavioral norms necessary to keep order and avoid disrupting the academic experience of others.

Federal law assures equal access for people with disabilities . It is not the disability that is protected from discrimination; it is the person with the disability.

Everyone is nervous when they start something new. They aren't exactly sure what they are to do, what is the best approach and they wonder how they will know they are doing it right.

Students who are cheaters will take every opportunity to do so. They have ethical issues to deal with. Eliminate as many of these opportunities as you can.

You can not change a center staged student you can only control their behaviors.
