i learned engaging the students into active learning in a variety of ways based on the students needs and learning styles will increase the chances of positive outcomes. 

its important to know how to appropriately ask students questions to ensure they are learning and discussing without the fear of being labeled stupid. its also imporant to avoid asking questions in attempts of only gaining attention of distracted students that aren't paying attention. 

its important to account for various learning styles. and its best to use a variety of teaching methods to be an efficeint instructor

its good to include time to allow students to learn a little bit about you and its good to have time to learn about the students

arrive early to prepare for class. hold students accountable

lead by example. role model and educate
