I like having the students actually self review with the rubric and make changes prior to turning in and document what improvements they made based on their self score on rubric.

I realized how very basic and traditional my syllabus is. It is the old paper handout simply typd into my LMS. My brain is swirling with ideas to make it interactive with project previews that I think will really get the students excited about what is ahead in the course if they see samples from day one!

 

The consistency in what on the surface seems simple like font choice, size and color. I like the idea if creating an instant visual recognition like a red box with blue writing that always signals the same thing.. like disucssion , quiz, etc. Very useful idea I had not thouht of.

 

just because the delivery is on line does not mean yu will not come into contact with the same personaliisty traits you would in person, they may just manifest themselves in differentn ways, so the instructor needs to be prepared to address and manage the different personality types.

 

asynchronous discussions will typically lend itself to more students contributing. its imortant to moderate to keep the discussion on topic and engaging

 

its important to create a sense of community on line by getting to know one another through our experience and interests. its still possible to share bonds with classmates/ instructors even in an on line setting. we are bonded by our shared interests.

 

its important the content is engaging so stuents are connected to the material and can be involved in it. they also need to feel they have the support and connection to the insructor.
