Yes, even as an adult, having a bed time can be a good thing. We have to know our limits and make sure we honor them so as not to get sick or fatigued when we need to be on top of things.
It sounds like you are on the right track with your plans Glenda. One thing that I should note is that it's sometimes hard not to experience a sense of urgency when you have many tasks on your list. But it's easy to remind yourself to focus on priorities when that feeling arises.
It's a nice feeling when good scheduling techniques and the right technology produce more free time and a better experience.
This is an important point Tirizia, Life events such as a move, birth of a new baby or even a death in the family can shake up our schedules and cause delays in task completion. What's important is to just understand the way these life events impact our schedules and communicate this to others where appropriate.
Excellent Brian, it sounds like you already have some great coping mechanisms in place. Now you can just build on that foundation.
Excellent Jennifer. And I agree that it feels good to cross a bunch of easy tasks off the list. It makes you feel like you are making progress. As long as you eventually face the more difficult tasks head on, this method can work well.
Organizing tasks by time of day is an interesting concept Nicholas. This kind of scheduling demands that you think about how long each task will take and whether it fits into various time intervals. Probably helps you set realistic expectations about how much work can get done and when it will be complete.
Excellent Brian! Yes, this will speed up your grading time after a little bit of practice with the new grading system.
Wow Brandy, Short Keys sounds like it could be really useful to many instructors who take this course. Thanks for sharing!
I like your concept of a reaching a quota each day Brian. This keeps you chipping away at grading papers and completing other priority tasks, but also gives you a sense of accomplishment at the end of each day.
