This sounds quite stressful David. But looking on your list, I see that some stressors here are temporary. Ph.D. programs for example can be tough. But once you get through, life tends to get much better.

Great strategy Le Roy. To do lists are highly effective during the holiday season as this can otherwise be a very stressful time. I might recommend trying to consolidate this list of personal activities with other activities that are work related. This way, you can see everything that must be completed all at once. This can be less overwhelming than managing multiple lists.
This is a great point Carolyn. Our organizing techniques can help us be more fair in grading multiple students. Sometimes it really is hard to keep track of everything otherwise.

That sounds tough. Where it is possible, you might consider taking on a student assistant to help with grading. Often times, students will help in exchange for an experience they can put on their resume and a letter of recommendation.
Great question Dr. Baarda! Chewing gum is a great stress reliever that I use myself. And if it's sugar-free, some studies show this can be a healthy habit for your teeth as well.
